The Western Union Prepaid Visa card is a reloadable prepaid card offered directly by Western Union. You can use it everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted.
You can use your card to shop online or in-store, and to withdraw cash from ATMs and from Western Union-Pago Fácil network. The card is available in physical form at selected Western Union agent locations.

How do I get the Western Union Prepaid Visa® card?

In-store at selected Western Union agent locations. You can find the nearest agent location by using our agency locator and filtering the option “Prepaid Services”.

How do I activate my Western Union Prepaid Visa® card?

Your card is active when you receive it.
Only replacement cards require activation.

To activate replacement follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Western Union Prepaid Visa card account.
  2. Go to your dashboard.
  3. Choose the card and select Activate Card now.

What are the fees for using the Western Union Prepaid Visa® card?

The card has no maintenance fees.
There is no fee to reload your card either, meaning it’s free.
A transaction fee of 2,000 argentine pesos will apply to ATM withdrawals.

How can I add money to my Western Union Prepaid Visa® card?

If you’ve received a Western Union money transfer or you have cash, you can visit any agent locations and ask for a top-up.

How long will it take for funds to be added to my Western Union Prepaid Visa® card?

If you add money to your Prepaid Card with cash, the money will be available in minutes.

How do I create or reset my Western Union Prepaid Visa® card PIN?

“To create a PIN, log into your Western Union Prepaid Visa Card profile and select your prepaid card from the dashboard. You will see a blue box asking you to set a PIN. Select Create PIN and follow the instructions.

To reset your PIN:

  • Log into your Western Union Prepaid Visa card account.
  • Select the card from the dashboard.
  • Go to Security Settings of your card.
  • Select Change PIN and follow the instructions.

What currencies does the Western Union Prepaid Visa® card support?

The Western Union Prepaid Visa Card supports Argentine pesos currency only.

How do I check my Western Union Prepaid Visa® card transaction activity and available balance?

You can check your Prepaid Card activity and available balance online.

To check your transaction activity and available balance, follow these steps:

  • Log into the Western Union Prepaid Visa Card account.
  • Select the card from dashboard.
  • You can now check your balance and transactions.

Can I use my Western Union Prepaid Visa® card outside Argentina?

If you are an Argentine resident, you can use your Prepaid Card anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted outside Argentina for shopping.

Note:
Foreign exchange fees may apply. You cannot reload your card at an agent location outside Argentina.

What should I do if my Western Union Prepaid Visa® card expires?

Western Union may cancel any Prepaid Card if it is not used for a period of 6 months or more, without prior notice. Once the Validity Period has expired, the user may go to an authorized location to request a new Prepaid Card if they wish to do so. The replacement may have a cost, which can be viewed in the “Fee Table” section on our website, or to withdraw the funds that may remain on their Card.

How do I temporarily block the Western Union Prepaid Visa® Card?

You can freeze your Prepaid Card online by logging into your Western Union profile. Select the card from the dashboard and select Freeze card.

How do I dispute a transaction on my Western Union Prepaid Visa® card?

To dispute a transaction, go to our website and access the Dashboard within the Prepaid Card section. Then, start a claim from “More actions / Submit a Claim”.

What should I do if my Western Union Prepaid Visa® card is lost or stolen?

If your card is lost or stolen, you must freeze it immediately.

  • Log in to your Western Union Visa Prepaid Card account.
  • Go to your profile and select the lost or stolen card.
  • Select Freeze Card below the card image.
  • If you recover your card, you can unblock it by following these steps:
  • Log in to your Western Union Visa Prepaid Card account.
  • Go to your profile and select the lost card.
  • Select Unfreeze Card below the card image.

Replacement cards can be requested for cards that have been permanently lost or stolen.

What happens when I freeze my card?

To freeze your card, move the toggle button on, where it says, Freeze card. Once it’s on, you’ll not be able to add money or make any transactions on the card until you move the toggle button to off.
